GJERMUNDBU HELM - "ANTIQUED"
The Gjermundbu Helm (AH2190N), is based on a classic Viking helm found in a Norwegian burial mound. Found in nine fragments, the helm has been re-constructed and is now housed in the Museum of National Antiquites in Oslo. It dates from around 970 CE and is considered to be the finest helm found of that era. The ‘spectacles’ (offically "occularia"),provided excellent facial and nasal protection, while chain mail provided flexible protection to the back and sides of the neck. As with the original, leather chin strap and wooden stand included.

The Roman Sword, or Gladius
The Roman Sword, or Gladius evolved from weapons captured during the Romans campaign in the Iberian peninsula. By the first century A.D., it had been refined to the form shown in this replica by Denix. The short stabbing blade, slightly waisted and abruptly pointed had shown its worth in many campaigns, and officers models were showing surprising levels of artistry in their decoration. The blades of Denix daggers and swords are cast from a metal alloy and cannot be sharpened, making them safe for display in family environments . Handle Material: engraved and embossed in simulated brass with classic Roman designs.
