SIOUX INDIAN
The name Sioux is an abbreviation of the French spelling, symbolizing "little snake". At least one -half of Sioux people are Catholic. Sioux is the largest and most important Indian tribe in northern Mexico. To them, the earth is a grease island plain surrounded by an ocean far to the west of the spirit world.
